Veil of Madness
A downloadable game for Windows
Welcome to "Veil of Madness," the horror dungeon crawler that will take you on a spine-tingling journey through a decaying Victorian mansion and its overgrown, forgotten gardens. You can play up to 4 characters and play as a brave adventurer, determined to uncover the secrets hidden within the mansion's walls.
There are some known issues like missing strafe keys, proper character customization, and some visual elements that are still temporary like UI elements. Also, the game lacks detailed playtesting.
When you start the game, after character customization, there is a 3-page tutorial that sums up the controls and UI elements. Consider checking it before starting to play the game. Also, here is the control scheme:
W, A, S, D: Movement buttons.
1 & 2: Attack buttons for left and right hand respectively. These are context-sensitive which means if there is no enemy or an interactable area in the front, they do not work.
I: Opens the inventory screen. It supports the drag & drop of items. You need to place the weapons into the character's hands to use them.
ESC: In-game menu
PS: Q & E buttons are for strafe but are not implemented at the moment, sorry.
That's all. Thanks for checking out and have fun!

Stuck in the first key door. WTF.
There's a secret button on the fireplace (left skull) which opens a hidden crawlspace door. The hidden door appears right across the fireplace.
I spy with my little eye Darkness Within influences in here...
Yes, it is because we are the developers of the Darkness Within series;)
I am a fan of your games. Keep doing what you're doing!
Also, highly intrigued by the upcoming Lunacy: Saint Rhodes, remember discovering it's steam store page many years ago. The development must have been long for the game.
Still working hard on it, it'll be out soon ;)
Looks frankly awesome, but I can't find the key for the first door. :(

nice prototype
Your project looks interesting, but unfortunately I have a x32 system, do you plan to build a game for old PCs?
Sure, I'll cook a 32 bit version for you whenever I sit on my PC ;)
ok I will wait)
Since this game was submitted for a game jam, I am unable to make any alterations to the build at the moment. Therefore, I have uploaded it to Google Drive. You can access it here:
